A meeting held by the Universitat Jaume I with the collaboration of FUE-UJI

The UJI promotes a work meeting between the Cuatroochenta Chair and the home automation company Tilúa

The meeting is part of the Universitat Jaume I program to effectively reach society with the technological offer and services of its researchers and improve interaction with the socioeconomic environment so that the knowledge and technology generated by the UJI serve to overcome the problems and challenges that this environment has to face.

Along these lines, and through the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa (FUE-UJI), a working meeting was held between researchers Óscar Belmonte Fernández and Antonio Caballer Miedes, from the GIANT-Machine Learning for Intelligent Environments group at the UJI - and Emilia Méndez, head of the home automation company Tilúa. Sergio Aguado, CIO of the company Cuatroochenta, belonging to the FUE-UJI Board of Trustees; and Lucía Pallarés, head of the R&D Transfer and Innovation project management area at FUE-UJI also attended the meeting, which arose from a first contact made a few months ago at the Destaca Fair.

The meeting has served to present the work of the UJI research group and, in turn, the initiatives developed by the Cuatroochenta Chair of Artificial Intelligence, Health and Well-being in order to assess a possible research collaboration, experimental or scientific development, between the company and the Universitat Jaume I.

The company has been able to see first-hand the innovative projects and solutions that the Chair is working on, such as the Serena, Sally and Senior Monitoring projects on the use of machine learning to improve well-being and health, specifically on digitization of classic validated tests for the detection of frailty in the elderly, or of chatbots and other tools applied to social isolation and loneliness, among others.
