The FUE-UJI accompanies Symmetry in working meetings with European institutions in Brussels

The FUE-UJI accompanied Simetría on December 6 and 7 in Brussels, having meetings with different European entities, framed within the “European Financing Roadmap” program. A program promoted by the FUE-UJI with the aim of increasing the participation of companies such as Simetría in European initiatives and promoting their internationalization.

Nela Gómez, head of EuroFUE-UJI, and María Ventura, project technician at EuroFUE-UJI, traveled to Brussels, along with two representatives of Simetría Grupo, Francisco Vea, director of Innovation and New Technologies, and Christian Abarca, innovation technician and new Simetría technologies. There they met with other representatives of various European institutions, including the European Commission, the meetings with Fundació Comunitat Valenciana - Regió Europea, ECTP - Innovative Build Environment and the Permanent Representation of Spain in the EU (REPER).

During these working days, topics such as calls for European financing programs, Horizon Europe and the European Commission's commitment to sustainability and construction were addressed, issues that were discussed with Philippe Moseley, policy officer of the General Directorate of business and industry of the European Commission, and Mr Christian Hauke ​​Planning and Programming Officer of the Directorate General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission.

One of the stops that was also notable on the agenda was with the Fundació Comunitat Valenciana – Regió Europea, which took place with Leticia Casañ with the aim of promoting the visibility of Simetría Grupo in Europe.

Another of the meetings was with Paul Cartuyvels, president of ECTP – Innovative Build Environment. Together with him, the FUE-UJI and the representatives of Simetría discussed with the ECTP network the actions for the European promotion of innovation in the construction environment.

The agenda ended with a meeting with David González and Marta March, research advisers of the Permanent Representation of Spain in the EU (REPER). Other appointments that took place during the working days were with Business and Science Poland, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, where the Symmetry R&D strategy and its international impact were presented, and with the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, to deal with the promotion of the group in Europe. In addition, during these days they participated in the Innovation Summit 2022 organized by the European Innovation Council (EIC).

They also visited the Spanish Science and Technology Office CDTI (Center for Technological Development and Innovation) to talk about the upcoming calls for Horizon Europe and potential European funding programs, and with the Finnova Foundation, where the R&D strategy was presented. Symmetry, in addition to the group's European projects and their results.
