UJI entrusts the FUE-UJI with the management of the program

The Universitat Jaume I de Castelló has hosted the presentation of the Study Abroad 2022 program, promoted by the Vice-Rector's Office for Internationalization and Cooperation through the Management Commission to the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa for the management of said program.

This short-term training offer so that university students can complement their studies has been presented to students and teachers of the Nagoya City University (NCU) of Japan. With the recently signed international collaboration and cooperation agreement between the Jaume I University of Castellón and the Nagoya City University, the Study Abroad UJI program promotes the mobility of Japanese students during their summer and spring vacations to expand their training at the University of Castellón.

The presentation ceremony of the Study Abroad UJI 2022 program took place on December 2 and was chaired by Joan Martín, vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the UJI, who welcomed Satoshi Chihara, head of the NCU International Exchange Center; Atsushi Yamada, professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences and head of the International Exchange Committee at the Graduate School; Shoko Shiina, associate professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences and deputy director of the International Exchange Center; and the faculty and students of Nagoya City University (NCU). "With the mobility of Japanese students at the UJI, we will further stimulate our academic environment and promote the internationalization of our university", highlighted the Vice Chancellor.

The person in charge of moderating the event was Kaori Tanaka, head of the Study Abroad Asia Program of the International Projects Office of the FUE-UJI, from which she organized this event. Tanaka presented the details of this short-term mobility program of the UJI made up of 8 multidisciplinary courses, presented in turn by her academic directors.

The International Business course, presented by Professor Javier Ordoñez; EU and Spain Integration Process, presented by Professor Mariam Camarero; Introduction to the Positive Psychology of Work and Organizations, introduced by Professor Josefina Peláez; and the course on Human and Local Development, Sustainability and Depopulation, led by Professor María José Rúa, are some of the innovative courses prepared for this Study Abroad Program at UJI 2022.

In addition, the UJI Study Abroad program also focuses on new technologies and language training, including courses on New Imaging Technologies, led by Professor Inmaculada Remolar; Computational Industrial Thinking, presented by Professor Óscar Belmonte; the Intensive Course of Spanish Language and Culture, introduced by Professor Vicent Sanz and the Short Course of Spanish Language, presented by the team of Professor Carmina Ribes.

The event, closed by the vice-rector Joan Martín, also featured the testimony of a Japanese student from the University of Yamaguchi, who shared his experience in his academic year at the UJI and in Castellón.

With the presentation of the UJI Study Abroad program at the international level, the University will expand its offer of training mobility to international students who wish to enrich their academic experience on the Castellón campus.

Throughout the 2022 academic year, the UJI expects to receive students from Latin America, the United States and Asia interested in training in short courses at the Jaume I University of Castellón.
