Within the framework of the MEETING HOUR FUE-UJI, representatives of companies and entities of the Board of the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation attended the meeting organized by the firm MACER, Leading company in the development of ceramic molds for the tile industry and international reference.

The session began with a reception in the company hall and a brief introduction on the initiative by the vice president of FUE-UJI, Sebastián Plá, and the vice rector for Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination at UJI, David Cabedo. The MACER management team, led by Laura Poyatos, José Manuel and José Miquel, then took a brief tour of the company’s history and main areas of work.  Afterwards, the participants made a guided tour through the facilities of Macer 1 and Macer 2 in which José Antonio Pérez explained the process of creating the mold and presented the Atecer Workshop, with an interesting sample of the process of creating textures and some examples of templates for molds.

To conclude, Vicente Sanz, secretary of the University Institute of Ceramic Technology Agustín Escardino IUTC-UJI, made a presentation on the lines of research of this technological center of the UJI and its two fundamental pillars: basic and exploratory university research and applied industry research.

Ana Olucha, who participated in her first Meeting Hour as executive president of FUE-UJI, took the opportunity to highlight the success of the meeting: "This initiative, launched by the Foundation, allows a closer look at the activities of leading companies and entities in the province. After each meeting, the importance of sharing knowledge is highlighted; this cycle of meetings is key to strengthening the link between the university and the business community".  

The event was attended by more than 20 representatives of the organizations of the Patronato as: City Council of Benicàssim, Town Hall of Onda, Civil Group, CaixaBank, Nayar, Symmetry Group, ASCER, CEV and collaborating entities as British School Vila-real and Smart Ports Chair.
