MACER joins the FUE-UJI Board of Trustees

33 companies and entities make up the FUE-UJI Trust

MACER, a company founded in 1973 and dedicated to the design, development, production and maintenance of ceramic molds for the tile industry, has been the most recent addition to the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa, which already has 33 companies and entities of the province that endorse with their presence the raison d'être of the Foundation, created in 1993 to serve as a link between the Universitat Jaume I and the Castellón socio-economic environment.

Agustín Poyatos, manager of MACER, has signed the act of adhesion in the presence of the rector of the UJI and president of the FUE-UJI, Eva Alcón; the honorary president of the Foundation, Rafael Benavent; and the executive president of the Foundation, Carlos Cabrera; Notary Ernesto Tarragón acting as notary public.

Agustín Poyatos has shown his interest in collaborating with the FUE-UJI: «I believe in corporate social responsibility. It is necessary to assume commitments with the group of organizations around a common interest to solve problems of the society ”. "The incorporation of MACER to the FUE-UJI is of great importance in its social actions", he affirmed.

The rector of the Universitat Jaume I and president of the FUE-UJI, Eva Alcón, stressed that “MACER represents innovation, the avant-garde or social commitment, as well as being a clear example of adaptation to complex scenarios and the ability to overcome , intangible values ​​that we also share at the UJI ». In this sense, Alcón stressed that this adhesion "opens another window of opportunities to promote relations between the University and the business and professional sector."

Carlos Cabrera, executive president of the FUE-UJI, has expressed the satisfaction of the entity for this latest incorporation, the second in 2021, to the highest governing body of the Foundation. «That MACER joins our Board of Trustees today is an honor for the Foundation. It is a firm with more than 45 years in the industry, which has always been at the forefront of the ceramic sector thanks to investment in innovation and technologies and with extensive experience in the international market. We could not be more satisfied.

Sebastián Pla, president of the Social Council of the UJI and vice president of the Foundation; Javier Grandío, secretary of the Board of Trustees of the FUE-UJI; Gloria Serra, manager of the FUE-UJI; Modesto Fabra, vice-rector for Planning, Coordination and Communication UJI; and José Miquel, appointed representative of MACER on the FUE-UJI Board of Trustees; have attended the event, which, for health security reasons, was held with reduced capacity and in compliance with the regulations imposed due to the pandemic.

During the event, the MACER manager has incorporated the company logo to the panel of organizations and entities of the Board of Trustees.
