Horizon Europe Launch Conference in the Comunitat Valenciana

Conference organized within the framework of the events related to the 30th anniversary of the Universitat Jaume I.
 
Initiative of the Vice-Rector's Office for Research and Transfer of the UJI, with the collaboration of the FUE-UJI (through the EuroFUE-UJI).
 
Online conference, through the Webex platform, which is developed within the framework of the Estrategia de la Generalitat Valenciana de coordinación nacional y regional en I+D+i, which aims to increase and improve the participation of all agents of the Valencian Community in the Horizon Europe Program.
 
At the beginning of May 2020, the European Commission released its new budget proposal for the period 2021-2027, with a sum of almost 100,000 million euros earmarked for the new Research and Innovation Framework Program, which will be renamed HORIZON EUROPE .
 
This new program is based on three fundamental pillars:
 
PILLAR 1 - EXCELLENT SCIENCE: Fostering collaboration and exchange of knowledge among researchers. Funding of research projects through the European Research Council (ERC) and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
 
PILLAR 2 - GLOBAL CHALLENGES AND EUROPEAN INDUSTRIAL COMPETITIVENESS: Direct support for research in the field of social and global challenges, such as the fight against cancer, sustainable mobility and the reduction in the use and dumping of plastic.
 
PILLAR 3 - INNOVATIVE EUROPE: The European Innovation Council (EIC), in its intention to turn Europe into a benchmark in innovation, will offer a showcase for cutting-edge technologies and innovative companies with growth potential.
 
PITCHING OF PROJECT IDEAS: after the presentations, a session will take place to present ideas or proposals by potential project coordinators from the Valencian Community who want to find partners for future calls. To attend as a public it is only necessary to be registered in the Conference, but to present an idea it is ESSENTIAL, in addition to being registered, send the "pitch" in the attached template before February 24 to seimed@redit.es.
 
Organized by: Universitat Jaume I de Castelló (UJI), The Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT) and the Node of the Enterprise Europe Network for companies in the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia (EEN-SEIMED).
 
Participants: Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and the National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures in Horizon Europe.
