The person in charge of the Training area of ​​the FUE-UJI, Reyes Riera, attended, together with the Deputy Vice-Rector of Studies and Permanent Training of the UJI, María José Aramburu Cabo, at the XXII MEETING of the RUEPEP, which was held on the 17th , April 18 and 19, 2024.

The University of Murcia hosted this meeting, which revolved around lifelong learning and the Microcredenciales Plan in the future of universities. However, practical examples were also shown and aspects such as the visibility and quality of employment training were discussed. In addition, the 2024 General Assembly was held.

The European Commission defines the microcredential as a qualification that demonstrates the learning results acquired through a short course or module, evaluated in a transparent manner and that can be offered, among other institutions, by universities. Microcredentials allow people who take them to improve their skills or retrain, updating their knowledge and adapting it to the current reality and the needs of the labor market, without having to take a complete higher education program.

Precisely in this area, FUE-UJI has served as a link between the Universitat Jaume I and the Castellón productive fabric to promote some modules. In the case of the UJI, last year the first microcredentials on innovative public procurement in local administration, artificial intelligence applied to business and on preparation and management of European projects were offered, although the offer has been expanded, including a dozens of new titles for this 2023-2024 academic year.

The Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation is also in charge of carrying out prospecting and coordination of microcredential proposals, previously approved by the Board of Directors of the University and by the governing bodies.
