XXVI Congress of Tourism University Business

Jornada FUE-UJI

presentation

The next tourism congress is the twenty-sixth edition of a congress thaat has benn held annually and uninterruptedly sinse 1998 in the facilities of the UJI.

It aims  to  analyze  the  latest  trends  and  opportunities  in  experience  tourism,  an  industry  that  is  becoming  increasingly relevant around the world. Experiential tourism refers to the offer of tourist activities that allow visitors to become involved in local communities and participate in cultural and leisure activities, giving them an authentic and unique experience.

This type of tourism focuses on offering visitors something more than just lodging and transportation, an experience that allows them to get to know the culture and lifestyle of the region they are visiting.

Experiential tourism has become an interesting alternative for travelers looking for authentic and memorable experiences on their trips. Nowadays, tourists want to know the destinations in a deeper way, interacting with the locals and learning about their culture and traditions.

In this sense, experiential tourism not only benefits tourists, but also local communities. By involving communities in offering these experiences, they are given the opportunity to display their customs and traditions, which helps preserve their cultural heritage and promotes the economic development of the region.

During this congress, topics such as the importance of authenticity in the creation of tourist experiences, the integration of technology in the planning and design of tourist experiences, and the growing demand for responsible and sustainable travel will be addressed.

It is important to mention that experiential tourism is currently developing in a context in which sustainability is a fundamental issue. Tourists are increasingly looking for options that are respectful of the environment and that promote the economic development of local communities without affecting their culture and environment.

Experiential tourism can be a tool to promote sustainable development. By offering options that involve the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources, you contribute to the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the regions visited.
