The opening ceremony for the Master’s Degree in Ceramic Technology for the academic year 2024-2025 was held yesterday at the Doctoral School and Board of Trustees building of the Universitat Jaume I. In its fifth edition, the programme has 28 students who can choose to take the training in either classroom or hybrid mode, with some already employed in companies within the ceramic sector.

 

This year, the sponsoring ceramic associations and companies have been renewed, including AICE, Equipe Cerámica, Exagres, Vidres, Colorobbia, Altadia, Tejas Borja, Moldes Plaza, Vernís, Porcelanosa, Macer, and Pamesa. Thanks to the support of these companies, a scholarship has been awarded to Jordi Bertrán Barberá, a recent graduate in Chemical Engineering from the UJI, enabling him to study in the programme.

 

During the event, the significance of these studies for the ceramics sector was emphasized, as it requires highly qualified professionals to tackle the main challenges facing the industry, such as the implementation of low-carbon technologies, digitalization, and the incorporation of emerging technologies. These efforts are essential for maintaining the sector's position as a global leader in innovation, quality, and design.
