The XXIII AELFE International Congress will be held in Castellón from 25 to 27 June 2025. This conference aims to be a reference point for researchers, educators and professionals in the field of Languages for Specific Purposes (LFEs). The Fundació Universitat Jaume I-Empresa participates in the organization of this congress which will explore traditional areas of interest of AELFE - Linguistics of Corpus, Gender and Discourse, Terminology, Translation and Interpretation, Digital Innovation in LFEs and Teaching Methodologies (including AICLE/EMI)- and emerging areas: multimodal literacy, innovative pedagogical practices, evaluation, technological integration, cultural and contextual factors, and professional applications in the 21st century.

The purpose of the congress is to examine the implications of these changes, by examining how multimodal literacy is transforming the use of language in research, teaching and professional practice. For this reason, the topic of this congress, "Re-conceptualizing LFEs in the era of multimodal literacy," emphasizes the revolutionary connection between language and technology, investigating how different types of visual communication, Digital and Auditory-shaped language practices.
