Jaume I University will host a scientific conference organized by the Plant Metabolism Integration Group, part of the Spanish Society for Plant Biology (SEBP). The meeting will bring together researchers whose work focuses on the study of plant metabolism and that of other photosynthetic organisms.

 

The event will address metabolism both as a result of the interaction of plants with the environment and other organisms, and as a tool for plant functional profiling. From a holistic and integrative perspective, participants will work with metabolite profiling technologies applied to the analysis of changes produced by environmental conditions, abiotic stress factors, or interactions with mutualistic, symbiotic, or pathogenic organisms.

 

The conference will also cover the study of endogenous metabolites and those emitted into the soil or atmosphere as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as the use of non-targeted metabolomics techniques for classifying plant material based on metabolites as selection traits.

 

The conference will also focus on the study of primary and secondary metabolism within plant biochemistry and biotechnology, as well as the characterization of new gene functions involved in metabolism and its regulation.

 

The Universitat Jaume I - Empresa Foundation (FUE-UJI) collaborates in the organization of this scientific forum.
