On Friday, May 29, the FUE-UJI Foundation organized a visit to Smalticeram for its Patron organizations and companies.

 

This was the fifteenth edition of the FUE-UJI Meeting Hour, designed as a meeting and networking opportunity for the Foundation's Patron organizations.

 

Ana Olucha, Executive President of the FUE-UJI Foundation, welcomed the attendees and provided context for this initiative, which aims to strengthen ties between the Castellón business community and the Universitat Jaume I. Gloria Serra, the Foundation's manager, also attended the visit. Following this, Fernando Tomás, CEO of Smalticeram, greeted the group and presented the company's activities.

 

The attendees, approximately twenty representatives from Patron organizations and companies, had the opportunity to see Smalticeram's facilities firsthand and learn about its operations through a corporate presentation and a guided tour of the production center and showroom.

 

The event also featured the participation of Eliseo Monfort, Professor of Chemical Engineering at Universitat Jaume I and coordinator of the GAIA research group (Environmental and Energy Engineering Group Applied to Industrial Processes). Introduced by Marisa Flor, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UJI, Monfort presented some of the main lines of work and initiatives developed by his research group.

 

Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Smaltilab Worldwide Tour exhibition, integrated into the tour of the company's facilities. This visit provided a close-up look at the company's commitment to innovation and the development of solutions for the ceramic sector.

 

This was undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between universities and businesses and to learn firsthand about the realities and projects of one of the leading companies in our region.
