This project will promote training in organic and sustainable agriculture

The European project FUNICE has held the first transnational meeting between its partners. This Erasmus + project, of which the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa (FUE-UJI) is a partner, has as its main objective to reduce the gap between research and farmers with the aim of improving their training in organic agriculture. In order to lay the foundations for the development of the training program, this first meeting between international partners led by the coordinating entity, the International Rural Development Association du Bas-Ségala of France.

All members of the FUNICE project consortium worked on the analysis of the project idea, objectives, planned activities and expected results, as well as the definition of the visual identity of the project. In addition to the coordinator (the International Rural Development Association du Bas-Ségala of France) and the FUE-UJI, representatives of other entities joined the meeting: Growth Coop (Spain), the municipality of Karesi Turkey), Balikesir University (Turkey), the ARID Association (Poland) and the Grodkowice Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization (Poland).

The FUNICE project, which will be implemented for two years, will coordinate its actions to develop in the coming months a first specialized and innovative training program on the benefits of using mycorrhiza in agriculture. This training, aimed especially at farmers, will promote organic and more sustainable agriculture that reduces the use of pesticides and fertilizers.
