Both as a leader and as a partner

The Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa has participated, through the EuroFUE-UJI - European and International Projects' Office in 19 European projects of different calls, both as a leader and as a partner.

With four projects already completed, the FUE-UJI is currently involved in 15 projects of the Erasmus +, Europe Aid, Horizon 2020 and Europe for Citizens programs.

The mission of EuroFUE-UJI, created in November 2017, is to bring Europe closer to the University and its socio-economic environment, developing innovative projects in the field of education and training, knowledge transfer, climate change, digitization, health and energy. among others.

The FUE-UJI, through the EuroFUE-UJI, offers specific services in three lines of work: support to the Universitat Jaume I through management assignments to promote its internationalization, actions aimed at organizations and companies linked to the FUE -UJI to increase its international competitiveness, and the participation of the FUE-UJI in European and international projects in the field of education, business innovation, digitization, climate change, tourism and smart cities, among others.

In this sense, the FUE-UJI has added to its outstanding presence and knowledge of the society-company-university framework, the high participation in events and bilateral meetings with professionals of interest in Brussels, including the European Commission and European networks such as ERRIN-European Regions Research & Innovation Network.

The EuroFUE-UJI team is made up of experts in financing and European funds, communication and institutional relations, with specialization in the preparation, writing and presentation of innovative projects at an international level.

LINES OF WORK

The EuroFUE-UJI offers support to the Jaume I University through the management assignments H2020, Erasmus + and the new Study Abroad assignment of the UJI, with the aim of promoting internationalization and contributing to the progress of society through through European science and innovation projects.

More focused on companies and entities, the EuroFUE-UJI deals with specific services on financing and European funds, ranging from the prior analysis of the potential for attracting European resources, design of the strategy for attracting them, training on financing and European funds, international communication plan, work agenda in Brussels and support, as well as incorporation of companies into international consortia.

A third line of work of the EuroFUE-UJI is aimed at obtaining financing and implementing European and international projects as coordinators and as partners. It is worth highlighting the great success of the Europe 2027 Work Breakfasts, an initiative launched in September 2020 with the collaboration of Caixalmassora.

In the framework of this cycle of sessions on European financing, companies and entities of the FUE-UJI Board of Trustees have learned, from the hand of experts in European issues, the opportunities that Europe offers in terms of subsidies and financing mechanisms. Some of the main themes of these sessions have been the Innovation Fund program on projects of energy-intensive industries, as well as the research and innovation framework program for the period 2021-2027, Horizon Europe.

PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

Some of the European projects led by the FUE-UJI, through the EuroFUE-UJI, are:

Beekeeping entrepreneurship and circular economy to empower women and their families. Project within the framework of the EuropeAid program with Argentina that aims to promote entrepreneurship through a microcredit program among women with experience in different fields, allowing them to develop a whole network of companies based on circular economy around beekeeping.

Start-up for development. Erasmus + project that aims to train experts with the necessary knowledge to provide smart solutions to rural areas, with the ultimate aim of turning them into smart cities or smart cities solving problems related to sustainability, digitization, and security, among other themes.

CIA Project. Erasmus + project that will improve the skills and employability of young people with fewer opportunities through the creation of Local Intergenerational Civic Councils.

Ecoblue Tourism. Erasmus + project that will increase entrepreneurship opportunities in blue ecotourism in coastal countries, through training through a mobile application.
