ECOMAYA trains more than 290 students in entrepreneurship, beekeeping and sustainability

ECOMAYA: Beekeeping Entrepreneurship and Circular Economy to empower women and their families
The ECOMAyA project has carried out a total of 16 training courses that have trained a total of 296 young people and women from vulnerable sectors or with low possibility of labor insertion. This international project financed by the European Commission under the EuropeAid program has trained its almost 300 participants in entrepreneurship, beekeeping and sustainability in order to promote and offer the necessary tools for the implementation of sustainable projects, based on circular economy environment. to the theme of beekeeping.
ECOMAyA has the experience and work of three international teams, the Emilia Romana Network of Technicians and Professionals. PROTER (Argentina), the SOGRES research group of the Jaume I University of Castellón (Spain) specialized in circular economy and sustainable entrepreneurship and the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa of Castellón (Spain) experts in entrepreneurship, communication and marketing. The three teams have coordinated the training activities, both in face-to-face and online format.
Thus, 3 food handling courses have been offered in the Municipality of General Alvarado, in the Ayelén Institute and in EES 47 with 26, 23 and 44 participants respectively. The formations such as Sanitary Installer and Operator of Machines for the Preparation of Beekeeping Clothing have had 11 attendees in total. Beekeeping is the central axis of the ECOMAyA project, therefore, the courses such as Beekeeping Operator, Beekeeping Assistant, Beekeeper, Good Beekeeping Manufacturing Practices, Beekeeping Production and Management of the Beekeeping Company and Honey Extraction have had a strong impact on the 111 trained students.
In addition, transversal and complementary trainings have been offered in Management and Administration of Sustainable Companies with 16 participants, Marketing and Communication with 22 students trained, Introduction to Sustainable Micro-enterprise with 18 participants and the Training of Trainers courses to Train Entrepreneurs and in Economic Projects. Circular with a total of 25 students.
Having reached its training objective in the first year of implementation of the project, ECOMAyA will accompany the students trained in the application of the contents and the execution of their own projects during the next 2 years of implementation. In addition, ECOMAyA will continue to offer different trainings during the years 2022 and 2023 that will complement the training of this first year and will facilitate the start-up of the ventures promoted in this first phase of the project.
