The Universitat Jaume I (UJI) has been selected as the venue for the 35th International Congress of the Association for the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ASELE), The Foundation Universitat Jaume I- Empresa supports the organization of this event to be held from 28 to 31 July 2025. The decision was adopted unanimously during the association’s plenary assembly, held at the 34th congress recently held in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Under the theme "Informal learning, language immersion, dissemination and transfer", the congress will address key issues related to learning Spanish in informal contexts, new technologies applied to this process, the emerging role of artificial intelligence. Strategies for the dissemination and transfer of linguistic and cultural knowledge will also be explored.

Germany will be the invited country in this edition, recognizing its growing interest in learning Spanish. The country stands out among Europeans with the largest number of students of this language, driven by the joint work of institutions such as the Cervantes Institute and the adult education centres Volkshochschulen.
